The road to the 2012 Paralympic Games was a long hard and expensive one. But to Donna, it was worth all the sacrifices, financial and sweat equity to assist the USA in placing 7th overall. Returning from London, Donna has a new mount: a very talented Danish Warmblood Gelding named PG Ganda whom she acquired from Vinceremos Therapuetic Riding Center near Wellington FL. Donna trains daily at a local gym, Sportplex in New Windsor then heads to Chester, NY where Ganda and she train under the watchful eye of Carol Seaman, a competitive Fédération Èquestre Internationale (FEI) rider, USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist and owner of and operator of Outfoxed Farm. Carol's commitment to reinforcing sound fundamentals and her intimate knowledge of the art as both a rider, trainer and instructor is honing Donna's skills in Dressage, and preparing her to be even more of a force to be reconed with.
With her sights set on qualifying for the 2014 World Equestrian Games and the 2016 Paralympics in Brazil, Donna needs to continue competing NOW. She needs to compete at qualifying events in Florida in May, California in June and her ultimate goal would be to compete in Europe against the "best of the best" over the summer.
Donna and her horses must receive training on a daily basis & Donna rides every day to perfect their skills and solidify their partnership. Her horses require maintenance and conditioning to remain healthy and improve their strength. Donna also cross trains 5 days a week in the gym to maintain peak physical conditioning. Although employed, Donna can't personally finance these ventures. She needs to raise at least $30,000 to compete in the USA and it will cost an additional $30,000.00 to compete in Europe. Donna is looking for people who believe in her ability to represent and medal for the USA at the Paralympic Games and invest in her future as a Para-Equestrian.
